Restaurant Zum Insulaner in Borkum

On the day we arrived at the Insulaner without a reservation with three people we were lucky there was space the food was very tasty the portions more than enough we couldn't eat everything even though we are good eaters because the food offered is of good quality and the price is reasonable Relationship. We will come back.

Excellent kitchen, unfortunately a bit hectic which had to do with the appointment. We recommend. You can also sit outside in the “winter garden”. Pleasant ambience. But make a reservation !!!

Very, very good restaurant with large portions and delicious food! This was the 4th time we were here and it won't be the last. However, we have one small point of criticism. We sat in the front of the kitchen / the counter and heard so much. The wait staff seemed very stressed and something was pulling. Otherwise great!

My portion was big and I didn't have to stay hungry. The service was ok. The taste of the food is not particularly good. Cold pre-cut salad with lame dressing. At the monkfish there was nothing to taste of a champagne-truffle sauce. Instead, the sauce had way too much pepper. Overall, my fish meal left a mixed impression with a weak taste experience. I expected more based on the other reviews.

We each had a soup before the main course. The beef juice broth and a crab cream soup. The portions were quite large, and the taste and quantity of the crabs could hardly be better. The food came quickly, was plentiful and very good. The staff was very friendly. It's a popular eatery and a place should be reserved.

Despite that "the hut was full", super friendly, fast service and relaxed service. Food really delicious! It has been a long time since I had eaten such delicious fish. Reservation is recommended. It was nice that our request for outside could be granted. It's rare on Borkum.

Very tasty food and huge portions. The staff is very friendly and responds to requests. Nice large outdoor terrace where you can sit comfortably. It is good advice to reserve in advance, as there are many regular guests. We will definitely be happy to come back.

The restaurant was very well attended, a reservation is recommended. The service is friendly, quick and professional. We had crab soup and tomato soup in advance, both soups were okay in taste, but nothing special. The main courses were a little more convincing: on the one hand we had steamed pollock fillet with potatoes and a mustard sauce and on the other hand we had three different fish fillets with fried potatoes and mustard sauce. The sauce was served extra for the fish fillets, which would also be desirable for the steamed fish. The quality of the fish was excellent, the cooking point was perfect. However, the steamed pollock could have used some spices.

A restaurant with antiquated furnishings and loud acoustics. In the menu you will find a large selection and several fish dishes. The waitress was always on the go and always friendly. Portion sizes are almost exaggerated, the quality of the dishes is average, unfortunately even rather greasy. Conclusion: Eat a lot cheaply. I had it once, I don't need it again.

Years ago this restaurant was good and it still is. If you love fish, here is in good hands. Of course, meat is also available and it is also good. The style is North German. Very delicious. The staff is friendly. What is especially nice, the restaurant is off the bustling pedestrian area. Again any time.

The dishes are all to be recommended, the schnitzel are very generous, the fish was delicious. You should reserve a table in advance. A big compliment to the service, we were there on my birthday and even got a round of sea buckthorn liqueur at the expense of the house. Thanks again for the nice service. The prices are reasonable and not too expensive. Keep it up. We will gladly come again.
